Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 1280!
Pack 1280 is located in Potomac, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. We welcome any K-5 children in the area. Currently, the pack has scouts from Cold Spring ES, Ritchie Park ES, Saint Raphael School, Stone Mill ES, and more! We “do our best” to be a pack kids and parents are proud to be a part of! Our pack calendar is full of adventure, from hiking and camping in the great outdoors, to STEAM activities and racing in our annual Pinewood Derby. We also undertake a number of service projects each year and contribute to our community. We look forward to a great year of learning and fun!

Sign Up for STEM NOVA
Our first Engineering opportunity to earn a NOVA Patch/Award is coming up! This is for any Scout who is a Wolf, Bear or Webelo (Grades 2 and above). It will help scouts better understand how Technology is used throughout their daily lives. More info about the award is HERE. Please use this google form to SIGN UP.
October Pack Meeting
Our October Pack Meeting will be on October 12th @ 5PM at Locust Grove Nature Center's Giant Oak Tree. It takes about 8min to hike there from the parking lot. There will be scouts and leaders leading you in the right direction. We will have a campfire!

DC United Game
On Saturday October 19th @ 6PM, Pack 1280 will have the opportunity to be in attendance for a DC United Game against Charlotte FC. We have 50 tickets reserved at the amazing price of $30/Ticket! October Hike
Join Pack 1280 at the Agricultural History Farm Park on Oct 20 @ 10AM. Enter the park and follow the road straight until it dead ends at a parking lot. Let's meet there. Wear long pants in case of long grass. Short loop hike with farmland, farm animals, MD history, and gardens!

November Hike
Fall Colors and lake views at Lake Needwood on Nov 16 @ 10AM. Let’s meet at the large Hiker/Biker Trailhead Parking Lot. Parking lot is past the boat house parking lot. Short loop hike near lake and surrounding forest. Bring bags and trash pinchers if you have them for plogging!

Popcorn Fundraiser

September Pack Meeting
(September 2024)
Pack 1280 had a fun-filled pack meeting! Scouts participated in Rain Gutter Regatta. Each scout built a boat out of pool noodles, paper, skewers, and plastic. After testing it in the water, scouts could redesign to improve the stability and speed of their boat!
