Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 1280!
Pack 1280 is located in Potomac, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. We welcome any K-5 children in the area. Currently, the pack has scouts from Cold Spring ES, Ritchie Park ES, Saint Raphael School, Stone Mill ES, and more! We “do our best” to be a pack kids and parents are proud to be a part of! Our pack calendar is full of adventure, from hiking and camping in the great outdoors, to STEAM activities and racing in our annual Pinewood Derby. We also undertake a number of service projects each year and contribute to our community. We look forward to a great year of learning and fun!

December Pack Meeting
On Dec 7 @ 12-2PM Pack 1280 will be having its December Pack Meeting/Popcorn Celebration/Winter Celebration and Potluck!!
Please bring a pre-packaged, unopened toy(s) that we will place in a box to be delivered to the Toys for Tots Distribution Center.
There will be a Pie Contest, amazing food, awards, games and activities, and of course, Popcorn!

Animal Encounter & Hike
Join us for an amazing Animal Encounter and Hike on Dec 14 @ 10AM. Scouts will get close up close and personal with 3 different animals, get opportunities for questions and then have a chance to explore the outdoors with the Naturalist before having the opportunity for a longer hike from 11am-12pm for those interested! We have budgeted for 30 Scouts/siblings to go free.

November Hike

Terrific fall weather for a hike at Lake Needwood. Scouts picked up trash along the trail while enjoying the fall scenery and beautiful lake.
October Hike
(October 2024)
Scouts had a terrific hike at the Agricultural History Farm Park. The weather was perfect! Scouts played on old tractors and visited a garden.
