Pack 1280 is located in Potomac, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. We welcome any K-5 children in the area. Currently, the pack has scouts from Cold Spring ES, Ritchie Park ES, Saint Raphael School, Stone Mill ES, and more! We “do our best” to be a pack kids and parents are proud to be a part of! Our pack calendar is full of adventure, from hiking and camping in the great outdoors, to STEAM activities and racing in our annual Pinewood Derby. We also undertake a number of service projects each year and contribute to our community. We look forward to a great year of learning and fun!

March Hike
Join Pack 1280 for our March Hike on Sat 3/28 @ 9:30AM. Let’s meet in the parking lot on Macarthur Blvd, right across from Old Anglers Inn. We’ll hike into the beautiful forest above Great Falls. We’ll make it a ~2 mile loop and be watching for the first signs of spring! Be prepared for possible muddy conditions

April Hike
Join us for our April Hike on Sun 4/19 @ 1:00PM. Back to the frogs! Let’s go find the hidden pond and see if the frogs are croaking! We’ll meet in the parking lot and do a ~2.5 mile lollipop loop trail in meadow, forest and hidden pond.

Pinewood Derby
(March 2026)
Pack 1280 held our annual Pinewood Derby! Scouts did a great job building their racers. Trophies were awarded for: most original, most artistic, most futuristic, and fastest car! Congrats to all the winners!
Snow Tubing Fun!
(January 2026)
Snow tubing at Liberty Mountain was such a blast! We didn't know if we would be able to go, but the weather turned out to be great and it was the perfect way to end a crazy snow week!
